As Aker Solutions’ global recruitment partner, NES Advantage are now looking for a: Area Design Engineer - Instrument (Valhall PWP project) with experience of onshore or offshore projects.

Aker Solutions’ New Build segment delivers oil & gas and renewables offshore developments and fabrication products, mainly focused on the Norwegian Continental Shelf and selective international markets. The segment is responsible for large EPCI projects, both within oil and gas and renewables, including business development and project execution, typically large topsides including fixed or floating substructures, onshore facilities, FPSOs offshore wind HVDC topside and jackets, offshore aquaculture floaters and decommissioning and recycling.

What will you be doing?
  • 3D modeling (PDMS/E3D)
  • Experience in Fire & Gas device modelling
  • Develop relevant area engineering documents
  • Review and implement vendor information for equipment package interface into area design
  • Follow-up of tie-in and hook-up activities affecting discipline
  • Ensure implementation of statutory requirements, design basis, specifications, standards, internal work instructions, and corporate requirements
  • Report progress to discipline lead on activities and deliverables against project schedule
  • Follow-up of verification activities to ensure quality in the discipline's work
Qualifications we think you should have:
  • Bachelor's, master's or technician experience in a relevant field
  • Relevant experience from Area design 
  • Previous experience in the offshore oil and gas industry
  • Knowledge of NORSOK standards
  • Software Skills: Microsoft office tools, PDMS, E3D or similar
  • Fluent English, written and spoken
Work location: Fornebu (Oslo), Norway
Contract duration: Until December 2024 with option for extension
