As Aker Solutions’ global recruitment partner NES Advantage is now looking for a: Commissioning Engineer - Instrument for an exciting project at Mongstad.
The project will initially follow a 4-day workweek schedule and transition to a 14/21 rotation after Easter.

From the start to end of production Aker Solutions ensures safe operations, optimizes field utilization, and enables field life-extensions. We do business development and execute modifications and maintenance projects. There is a global trend towards decarbonization, and we aim to help our customers to decarbonize their operations and measure their emissions to manage them more efficiently, for instance by delivering brownfield electrification of existing offshore facilities. Now we explore opportunities in the aftermarket for renewables, to deliver offshore maintenance for the renewable sector when the market is ready. Aker Solutions employs approximately 11,000 people in more than 20 countries.

What will you be doing?
- Execute commissioning activities in accordance with project procedures and safety standards.
- Perform system walkdowns, inspections, and functional testing of mechanical equipment and systems.
- Ensure mechanical systems are commissioned and handed over in line with project milestones and client expectations.
- Collaborate with construction, engineering, and operations teams to resolve commissioning-related issues.
- Prepare and maintain commissioning documentation, including test records, punch lists, and handover packages.
- Participate in planning and progress meetings, providing input on commissioning status and challenges.
We think you should have:
- Proven experience in commissioning within oil & gas, energy, or industrial projects.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems such as pumps, compressors, piping, HVAC, and rotating equipment.
- Familiarity with commissioning procedure.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, mechanical drawings, and technical specifications.
- Good knowledge of ProCoSys (DCP) and Fusion.
- Experience working in a site-based environment, or on large-scale industrial sites.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
- Fluency in Norwegian (written and verbal).
- Previous experience at Mongstad refinery site.
